Birthday Giveaway!

It was my birthday the other day, and I received some very beautiful gifts!  I'd like to share some of them with you.

From my husband, the Wedgwood "Queen of Hearts" teapot, cup and saucer.  No more tea bags in old coffee mugs for me!

And from my parents, who just returned from America yesterday....

A couple of fabulous books:

A calender

And many other little goodies, including quilt patterns and quilt postcards.  Mum bought these gorgeous things at none other than The Shelburne Museum!!!!!  I don't think she quite gets how cool that is!

Anyway, she bought me another book, which I already have:

Hence the giveaway!

Please leave a comment if you would like to be included in the draw.
You don't have to be a follower of this blog to enter the competition.
Please note your email address in the comments form if I don't have access to it.

Anyone can enter; anyone can win!
I will draw the winning number on Monday 11th October 9am EST.

And now, for those of you who are interested, here is an update on my "hello birdie" project:

As you can see, all the yellow stitching is done.

I have done some free-form stippling (for the first time ever) in the green "feather":

I found the stippling quite challenging!

I'm really enjoying this project, even though it's going to be a pretty odd little item when all is said and done.  Maybe Mary (our daughter) could use it as a sookie rag to suck on, or a placemat when she starts eating at the table.

Happy birthday! Hope you had an amazing day! It looks like you received some wonderful presents- I love the teapot. your hello birdie is looking great too, especially the quilting, well done! I love the hunky dory fabric- mum brought me some back from America and I can't wait to make a quilt with it. Your birdie is definitely to good to use as a placemat!! What about an adorable little wall quilt to hang in Mary's room :) ?

Ilove the little birdie and the quilting is just PERFECT
it adds so much to the piece.
oh I wouldn't use it as a placemat, only when she is old enough maybe to have make believe tea party's on!!!
Hang it in her room or place it on her dresser! great books!!!!
would love to win the Enduring grace book, thanks.
Also would love to hear what you think of the Gees Bend quilt book.

Happy Birthday! Your V&A Calendar reminded me to try to fit in a visit to see the quilts for real when we go back to the UK for Christmas. I am v.impressed with the stippling!
