ANZAC Bee - March and February blocks

The theme in March for the ANZAC Bee online quilting bee is "hearts".

These are my contributions:

It looks ok from a distance, but have a closer look...

I don't like how the raw edge applique looks.  I'm happy with my first ever blanket stitch, but in future, I will stick with traditional applique.

And February's challenge...

Design a beautiful house out of ugly fabric.  I didn't enjoy this project very much.  Firstly, my machine was on the blink, so I had to hand-piece the block, and secondly, a large portion of the joy I derive from quilting, is due to the fabrics... looking at them, handling them.... drooling over them basically!   It's worth checking out what the other bee members managed to create though, because their work on this project is awesome.

I think you are too hard on yourself. The ANZAC blocks look so cute! And you have done wonders with the house. Hope the fabrics get better....
