"Love" Coverlet

I attended a patchwork group at Patches Indooroopilly on Tuesday night, which was a whole lot of fun!  There I discovered that you could make patchwork "quilts" with no batting and no quilting... A coverlet.

After my last post, I felt motivated to finish a UFO, so I pulled out the Amy Butler "Love" liberated stars project and added some wonky triangle borders.  Then I simply pinned the backing and quilt top together and added binding.  It was that simple.  And remarkably, as I had been told, the two layers stuck together without one stitch of quilting to hold them together.  Fantastic!

This is the quilt top...

And this is it with binding, which I don't like and am going to unpick...

I just don't think the pale green works.  I think I will probably just end up using the navy.

What do you think?
